Building magnificent homes while
helping raise nearly $5,000,000 for St. Jude

Greg Bridgers and Kevin White started Southern Serenity Homes in 2007 and began building their first St. Jude Dream Home® less than a year later, in 2008. Since that time, they have also built the 2009, 2010, and now the 2011 Dream Homes®. In tribute to their dedication and the quality of the homes they build year after year, Southern Serenity was awarded the St. Jude National Dream Home® Builder of the Year two years running, in both 2008 and 2009 — a feat that had never been done before.

With the current 2011 Dream Home® Giveaway, that means Southern Serenity will have helped raise more than $5,000,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in just over four years. St. Jude has touched the hearts of everyone at Southern Serenity, as well as the hearts of the many craftsmen and suppliers who work side-by-side with Greg and Kevin on each new Dream Home®.

Southern Serenity hit the ground running with their very first Dream Home® and has never looked back. In fact, with each subsequent build, the team at SSH seems determined to outdo the previous home in some meaningful way.

While other builders have dropped by the wayside in recent years, Southern Serenity has continued to thrive. Originally, SSH started building in multiple subdivisions throughout Shelby and Fayette County, crafting homes from between $150,000 to $600,000.

Today, while SSH continues to build homes for the general market, their business has grown to include custom homes for the upper-end market, largely because potential homeowners who saw the quality and detail that went into each of their spec homes — at unbelievably affordable prices — decided that Southern Serenity was the perfect company to build their personal dream home. Most of the custom homes SSH is building cost well over half a million dollars, with the largest of them exceeding 10,000 sq. ft.

When a custom home is being built, the future homeowner often asks if something can be changed or added, to which Greg and Kevin always answer, “There’s nothing we can’t do. If you want it, we’ll find a way to make it happen.” That never-say-never attitude is probably the single most important factor which has helped SSH survive when other builders have had to close their doors.

Combined, Greg and Kevin have over forty years of building experience, and have constructed more than 4,150 homes to date throughout the Mid-south. Every day, you will find them on the job site making certain that every home they construct is the best possible home that can be built — by anyone. The slogan, “Quality, Value & Integrity” used in their company logo isn’t merely a collection of words, but the very foundation upon which the company was founded, and upon which it continues to grow today.
